We are currently looking for two suitable people to work within our new Extended Services: Before and After School Provision. We require a Play Leader and a Play Worker.
Working Pattern: 15-17 hours per week, pattern TBC - TERM TIME ONLY
Play Leader Pay Range: Lancashire Grade 5 (Scale Point 6-11)
Play Worker Pay Range: Lancashire Grade 4 (Scale Point 4-6)

Play Leader Extended Services: Before & After School Childcare
JOB OUTLINE
Job Title: Play Leader
Qualifications Required: NVQ Level 3 in Playwork or NNEB, /BTEC/NVQ Level 3 Early Years Care & Education/Childcare
A current first aid certificate (can be arranged if expired)
Food Safety certificate (can be arranged if expired)
Pay Grade: Grade 5 (Pt 6-11)
Location: Hesketh-with-Becconsall All Saints Church of England Primary School, Extended Services
Responsible to: Senior Leadership Team
Staff responsible for: Play Worker and would be involved with supporting Apprentices or casual staff such as supply workers
JOB PURPOSE
The main objectives to be achieved by the Post holder
As the Play Leader managing and leading a team, to create high quality play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. To provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children placed in the before and after school provision, including those with special needs. To ensure that the EYFS & Welfare requirements are met and keep appropriate records. Organising and leading on provision activities to promote children’s wellbeing and supervising other staff to ensure the smooth running of the provision.
MAIN ACTIVITIES

What prescribed duties the post holder will have
· To ensure parents/carers and children are welcomed in a professional manner, to carry out registration and reception duties, communicating effectively and reporting any information shared as appropriate
· To supervise and interact with children undertaking activities
· To support children in areas of personal hygiene and encourage good personal hygiene skills and routines
· To assist in the development of independent social skills
· To report any issues/incidents via CPOMS as appropriate and inform parents as necessary
· To assist the children in the proper use of specialist aids and equipment
· To provide play-based activities for individuals and/or small groups of children
· To administer basic/paediatric first aid where appropriately trained
· To assist in the specific medical/care needs of pupils when specific training has been undertaken
· To undertake duties such as preparing snacks, cleaning the provision room and toys, tidying up, etc.
· To assist with maintenance of provision equipment, ensuring it is kept in a clean and tidy condition and reporting damages
· To undertake photocopying and routine clerical duties as required
· To report child absence using the school’s procedures
· To take care for their own and other people's health and safety
· To ensure confidentiality is maintained where appropriate
· To follow the safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
