“Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. What ever else you get insight.”

Proverbs 4:7

Maths Statement of Intent

Mathematics is taught through engaging, well-structured lessons by class teachers using the carefully designed scheme of work from White Rose Education, tailored to meet the needs of our pupils and aligned with the National Curriculum 2014.

Our Maths curriculum builds fluency, reasoning, and problem-solving skills through small, sequential steps that promote deep conceptual understanding. Lessons are designed to be inclusive, accessible and challenging, enabling all pupils to gain confidence and independence in mathematics.

The Mathematics Policy, Curriculum Overview, and Knowledge & Skills Progression documents are reviewed and updated annually to ensure coherence, consistency and progression across all year groups.

We believe Mathematics reveals the order and precision of God’s creation, inspiring children to explore patterns, relationships and solutions with curiosity, creativity and joy. Through developing logical thinking and perseverance, pupils are equipped with essential skills for life, learning, and the modern world.

“God does not want us to be in disorder but in harmony and peace.”

1 Corinthians 14:33
