Science
"The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands." — Psalm 19:1
Science Statement of Intent
Science is taught through engaging, enquiry-led lessons by class teachers using the carefully designed scheme of work from Curriculum Maestro, tailored to meet the needs of our pupils and aligned with the National Curriculum 2014.
Our Science curriculum nurtures curiosity, encourages children to ask questions, and develops their understanding of the world through practical investigations and real-life contexts. Lessons are planned to build scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding, working scientifically across biology, chemistry, and physics strands from KS1 through KS2.
The Science Policy, Science Overview and Knowledge & Skills Progression documents are reviewed and updated annually to ensure coherence, challenge, and progression.
We believe Science empowers children to explore God's creation with awe and respect, deepening their appreciation of the natural world and equipping them with the critical thinking skills needed for a rapidly changing world.
"But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you... In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind."
Job 12:7–10
